We started the application process on July 17th of this year and are expecting it to be approved by the same time next year.
I being the Canadian citizen am currently living and working here in Canada and my wife is staying with her family in Japan. Unfortunately due to some sudden problems, my wife might need to move in with her Aunt in the Philippines which is where she was born anyways.
My question is: Will her moving to the Philippines, of course until she is approved to come to Canada, cause any problems for our sponsorship application? We don't really have much choice in this situation and she needs to go back.

Quite a surprise to see an email notification about this post haha, but I can certainly provide some info.
Atleast for the case of my wife, moving to her home country didn't cause any issues at all with the process. The only thing we needed to do was update her, mailing and living address online after she arrived.
Hopefully a bit of good news to put your mind at ease.
