hello all
my question is this:making a commitment with the sposnsorship procedure means u are respansable for the sponsored person for 3 years..so this according to me means even if u apply for social assistance they simply do not give!!!why do they sometimes refuse the applications because they think the sponsored will ask for welfare or something like this?is is already declared that he/she cant use this for at least 3 years...
If the person that you are sponsoring applies for social assistance during the 3 years after they become a PR, and it is approved, you will be responsible for the repayment of that money to Canada.
Your agreeing to sponsor the person has NO impact on whether or not the person is approved for social assistance, if your relationship breaks down and they choose to apply.

If the sponsored person asks for social assistance during the three year period and they qualify for social assistance - the government will certainly give them this money. The government will then go after the sponsor to get the money back.
