This may be an odd question but hoping someone on here can help answer my query.

I was the principal applicant sponsored by my husband. My children and I arrived in 2017. My eldest is going to a university this year. My questions are:

  1. Is it still part of the Sponsor's Undertaking to support and pay for the principal applicant's dependent who is going to a university?
  2. Does school (university or college) fees falls under "personal requirements" or, "...other goods and services"?
Please, I will really be grateful to whoever that can shed a light about these things bogging my mind.

TIA

Your obligations as a sponsor
When you agree to be a sponsor, you must sign an undertaking, promising to give financial support for the basic needs of your spouse or partner and their dependent children.

Basic needs are:
  • food, clothing, shelter and other needs for everyday living,
  • dental care, eye care and other health needs that aren’t covered by public health services.
I don't see anything in there about education costs... If you are trying to force a sponsor to put a dependent child through university, I suspect that you will fail. That's not a "basic need".

Thank you, @zardoz . This is true! I just want to make sure that my husband (the sponsor) will not get a bill from the government in the future as my child applied for OSAP. We are currently in the phase of having "teen angst" and I do not tolerate insolent behaviour.
