Do I have to be employed to sponsor my spouse from India ? I'm a PR in Canada.

no, it is not required for sponsors to be employed or to have an income to sponsor their spouse. IRCC will want to know how you plan to support your spouse without needing to go on welfare.

letters of support from family and friends in Canada who will help you get on your feet, proof of savings, proof of efforts to get a job (if you are seeking employment), proof of studies (if you're studying to get a degree/certified for a trade), proof of your wife's intentions for work - if she plans to work, explaining in a letter how are you currently supporting yourself and what you will do to ensure you can support your wife when she gets to canada.
