I was really confused right now... don't know what the best thing to do to sponsor my husband to come over here in canada.
here's the situation... I received my confirmation letter last april 19,2011 through email...I got married last may 2011 and I became Permanent resident last June 01, 2011 and I have'nt declared that i got married... Now I am planning to sponsor my husband to come over here with me... Would there be any problem for our application that they might gonna question me for not declaring that i did got married before i became a permanent resident...please help me to know what's the best thing i should do...ocz i really really want to have my husband beside me...
Since you landed as a single person when you were in fact married, you can never sponsor your husband. If you try to submit an application to sponsor your husband, it will be refused - and you could put your own PR status in jeopardy for misrepresenting your status when you landed (i.e. saying you were single when you were in fact married).
my friends advice for not declaring and if i did declare to them i dont have any evidence yet that i got married..i dont have my marriage contract with me.. i just got it last weeks....is there any way i can get my husband?....
There is no legal way you can sponsor your husband. The only legal option available is for your husband to qualify for immigration independently as a skilled worker, investor, entrepreneur or self-employed.
I'm not going to comment on any options that involve lying / misrepresentation.
No - unfortunately there's no way. Since you have already landed, it's too late.
What you should have done was returned your PR visa before you landed, informed CIC that you had gotten married - and submitted the forms and supporting documentation required to add your new husband to your application. After processing your husband's paperwork, CIC would have re-issued a new visa for both you and your husband. But as I said before, unfortunately it's too late now.
He can apply will he get approved is something else and once he gets here as a visitor what will u be doing? He cannot legally work and if he needs to visit a dr u have to pay
Sure - your husband can try to obtain a visit visa and come here to look for a job. However it's quite difficult to get hired. In order to hire your husband, the employer will have to prove that he couldn't find a Canadian to do the job. Since this process is difficult and takes a lot of time, many employers aren't willing to hire foreign workers. But your husband can certainly try.
Note that if your husband does manage to find a job and be hired by a Canadian employer, this doesn't automatically give him PR status.
oh okay,... i won't worry if he could'nt get a PR status right away.... working permit or any king of permit would be fine...as long as we can live together here in canada....
