I got married to my girl friend last month. We had been in a relationship since last 4 years. I work in Calgary and she works in New brunswick. We don't live together but we visit each other as and when possible.
My questions are as follows:
1) Can I sponsor her under inland category?
2) If we are living in two different cities will it cause any problems/issues?
3) Is it possible to put her application under out land category as the processing times are less under it?
Whom may I sponsor using this application package?
You may sponsor your spouse or common‑law partner if he or she meets the following requirements:
lives with you in Canada,
has a valid passport or travel document,
is 18 years of age or older,
is your spouse or common‑law partner for genuine reasons and not primarily to obtain permanent resident status in Canada.
You can sponsor her either inland or outland. For an inland application, the sponsor and applicant are supposed to be living together in Canada. For an outland application, CIC would still have questions about why a married couple who are both in Canada are not living together. If you can answer that, and also show proof that you will be living together once she becomes a PR, the application should be OK.
My wife is on PGWP. By God's grace we both have a good job but in different cities. We have been trying to get job in one or the other city but it will take some time. Are you sure I can apply under outland category even if my wife resides in canada? Thanks
