I am a Canadian Grandmother who would like to sponsor my 21 year old Grandson who was born in America and lives part time with me and helps out at my home in Victoria BC. He loves Canada and would like to stay permanently. Why are there NO forms for Grandparent sponsorship!
I am finding it very difficult and could use some help, he is a good boy, has NO criminal record, works hard and already finished a course at the Justice Institute in Victoria to become an EMR, he would like to work in Canada as an EMR but unfortunately he cannot until citizenship is acquired. Please help.
Sincerely
A Grandmother who loves her Grandson
From other post... grandparents are not eligible to sponsor grand kids. There is no such immigration stream. He will need to qualify to immigrate entirely on his own.
Actually yes there are 2 ways he can immigrate, but both involve his parents.
1. If his parent is Canadian and can pass on citizenship, then he would already be a citizen and just needs to show proof.
2. If his parent is Canadian but can't pass on citizenship, they could still sponsor him for PR before his 22nd birthday. This must be his parent though, not a grandparent.
