Hi guys- I am Canadian citizen, been living last 12 months in Canada with girlfriend. She is an Argentina national, here on Visitor Visa's only (she is not working...I am supporting her).
Question for you: I will be providing my Option C Last Notice of Assessment printout for tax records. But she obviously doesn't have one, since she is not technically working here, nor has income, nor would be expected to as a visitor in this country.
Any advice on this? Any experience saying we should get her one anyway? This seems obvious but I want to be sure.
From what I gathered from the application process and document checklist this is only required for the sponsor, not the principle applicant for PR.
The reason is they want to make sure you are not receiving any benefits or assistance from the government (with exceptions for disability etc) as you are promising to support that person for the next three years. I.e if you are unemployed and living off the tax-payer you will get denied as you cannot support yourself let alone someone else.
