Sponsoring a child not declared

Hi everyone..posting this for a friend of mine. My friend is married and sponsored by his wife but he had a child from another woman and he is now planning to petition the kid. The kid was born few months after he came here in Canada. Is there an issue if ever he will continue to sponsor the kid. The mom is willing to sign any papers and willing to give the custody to my friend. thanks and hope to get response on this one.

If the child was born after he became a PR, there will be no issues sponsoring the child.

There actually MAY be an issue. Not with not declaring, however the issue that may be brought up would be validity of marriage.
If the child was born a few months after he came, then he had another woman pregnant while married, and during the application process. He may be in jeopardy of putting himself at risk for misrep, as cic definitely sees cheating, and pregnancy outside of marriage proof of not having a valid marriage, (see canlii cases for reference). Your friend will want to get legal advice.
