Sponsor Passport Expiry

Hi,
The situation is; I am sposoring my spouse from outside Canada. We are very close to submitting our application. My Canadian passport expires 18 July 2012. It will take about 4 weeks to get a new Canadian passport here in Australia.
The question: Should I wait until I recieve my new Canadian passport, and include copies of that one with the application or should we go ahead and send off the application now with certified copies of my current passport?

Any suggestions welcome.

Send the current one. I doubt it affects anything one way or another, my husband had to get a new passport after we completed our application, and he has never been requested to present the new one.
