Sponsor Leaving Canada while Spousal sponsorship application is in progress.

Hi. Need some advise on this.
Sponsor, a PR holder is planning to resign from work and will leave Canada. Sponsor is planning to return to Canada with the spouse as soon as PA's PR visa is available. Spouse PR application is on it's 7th month now and on a final stage as per local VO. Kindly advise if this is possible. Will appreciate your thoughts on this. Thank you in advance.

If you leave you risk the application being refused. As a PR you are required to remain in Canada while the application is processing.

This is a BAD IDEA.

Only Canadian citizens can sponsor from outside of Canada. If your sponsor is a permanent resident, they should stay in Canada. Otherwise you risk the whole application being rejected.
