Hello everyone,
I have been out of status for almost 2 years now. My boyfriend is sponsoring me under common law sponsorship. However he got an unfortunate news that he got laid off today. Can he still sponsor me or should I wait till he gets a new job?
Also, if he can sponsor me then what documents he can show/attach to show that he could support me without a job? He is not applying for any government assistance or EI
plesse advice . Thankyou
Any savings in his bank account and/or property document he can show he can support you while he is unemployed?

EI and CERB are not considered government assistance, he should make use of them to the extent he is eligible.

Why? This info about CERB and EI publicly available. Better to at least get those funds.
