I have two questions regarding the Application to Sponsor:
On page 1 question 8 of the Application to Sponsor and Undertaking it asks Marital Status, which for us is Common Law. Then they ask, Date relationship started??
What do they mean, our relationship started the day we met.
Or do they mean when we started to live together?
Or when we started the 12 month continuous period to qualify for common law??
On page 2 they ask to list the person who is being sponsored
at the end of this question they ask, length of undertaking and ID number?? What does this mean, I assume it is for their use but does not say so??
On page 3 where you list your non accompanying family members, at the end they ask again ID number?
On Imm1344A, Question 8- I would put the time you entered into the 12 month continuous period of living together, because that is how immigration determines if you qualify as common law partners.
In the Sponsor Questionnaire, you can put more information about the time you met and started to live together. In IMM 5285 #3, they ask about living together. You can put the time you started living together, and attach a letter of explanation (or just add it to all the other information you need to add for that form) explaining all this. The officer will piece it all together.
Spaces that ask about length of undertaking and ID number are not to be filled out by you, it's "office use only". The officer fills it in themselves based on the information you've given them about the person.
