Hi,
I became a PR in August 2014, my husband sponsored me through spouse visa. Now I want to sponsor my brother (sibling). I'm little confused with "Application to Sponsor" IMM1344E (Sponsor Eligibility Assessment Q.5)
Sponsor Eligibility Assessment: Question number 5 it states
If you answer Yes to Q.5 and you're sponsoring a spouse, common law or conjugal partner then you're not eligible to sponsor and you should not submit your application.
5. In the 5 years preceding this application, did you become Permanent Resident after being sponsored as a spouse.
In the form it states the above and when I check Sponsorship Guide IMM5196, it states other way:
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...-children-other-relatives-sponsor.html#5196E2
Sponsor Eligibility Assessment
Thanks,
Ruchi

- If you answer “Yes” to any question between 5 and 15
- You are not eligible to be a sponsor. You should not submit an application.
- If you are sponsoring a parent or grandparent, this does not apply to you.
Thanks,
Ruchi
