Hi ,I Sponsored my spouse in 2019 and he came on a open work permit in June 2019.We both are on work permit right now and we are not going good in relationship and thinking to take divorce .If I take divorce how long I cannot sponsor my new spouse if I want to remarry.Thanks.

OP is on a work permit. This is not a PR situation. The five year rule doesn't apply.

You will need to first separate officially for one full year before you can file for divorce. Once you have separated for a year, you will be able to file for divorce. Once the divorce is finalized, you will then be able to marry someone new and then they will be able to apply for a work permit. So you're probably looking at around 1.5 to 2 years.

I have one more question,He has dependent work permit on me,If I’ll apply for separation,his status will be effected right away or after Divorce
