Hi there all,

(First posted incorrectly in Canadian Experience Section)

First time posting here, hoping to get some responses from people who know or have had similar experience with my issue.

My partner and I completed our Biometrics submission yesterday (and obviously have paid our application fees), and she was granted work permit approval within 12 hours. Very fast I know. I haven’t received a response yet, unsurprisingly.

My issue is:

Last year in May, I was charged with a minor drug possession charge at a music festival (2 E’s) and was told I had to appear in a magistrates court. I pleaded guilty, and was given a 6 month good behaviour bond, and a date where I had to appear at a rehabilitation service which would educate me about drug abuse. I have no prior criminal charges whatsoever and only have minor speeding fines to my name. I was given no criminal conviction, and nothing appears on my police clearance certificate. However, when I was asked in the IEC Application process about whether I have ever been CHARGED, convicted or arrested before, I had to tick Yes, and explain what happened, and also had to submit a court record brief document.

My question: Has any one had a similar circumstance where they have been charged with a drug offence but not convicted, and has it affected their Visa process?

I appreciate any and all input!
