I want to sponsor my brother who is 14 years old from the Philippines so he can have a better life.
I was brought to Canada when I was 6 years old, my aunt adopted me so I can have a better life in Canada. I am now 21 years old with a job. Am I eligible to sponsor my younger brother? even if I am adopted here?
Also Another question.
My aunt is my adopted mother. I wanted to know if I can sponsor my Biological Mother. I really want her to stay here in Canada but my situation is very strange. Being adopted may make me not eligible to sponsor her because my aunt is my mother in Canada. Would it still be possible for me to take my biological mom in Canada? She is my biological mother after all.
Unfortunately, you can't sponsor brothers/sisters. He will need to look to immigrate on his own when he's older.
To sponsor parents, you must show 3 consecutive years of Canadian income meeting minimum LICO amounts. So most likely you wouldn't be eligible to even consider sponsoring her for quite a while.
I'm not sure if you can sponsor biological parent if you have a legally adopted parent also.
For both the immigration and citizenship process, an adoption is valid only if it ends the child's legal relationship with the biological parents, and a new legal relationship is established between the adopting parents and the adopted child.
This means the child cannot later sponsor his/her biological relatives to come to Canada.
Agreed with what everyone else has said. Unfortunately you can't sponsor either your brother or your mother. If they wish to immigrate to Canada they will have to qualify on their own.
