Hello All,

My partner has a Spouse Open Work Permit (SOWP), but her Work Permit includes a "no healthcare" condition. She has recently secured a postdoctoral fellowship at a university in the field of medicine, but she is not in direct contact with or providing services to patients. Given this, is she still eligible for the postdoc position, or would her role be considered part of the healthcare field?

Wouldn’t be considered healthcare job. The condition is in place for those who work with vulnerable people. Condition is also easily removed if you have a valid medical.

What paperwork does she need? Please list it so I can review it for you!

Given that the partner has a Spouse Open Work Permit with a "no healthcare" condition, can she still accept a postdoctoral fellowship in medicine if her role does not involve direct contact with or providing services to patients, and how might this impact her eligibility?

They typically only have to do a medical to remove the clause
