I am thinking of applying for my SOWP. My husband is on PGWP in Canada but his work permit is expiring on Jan 2024.
I am wondering if i apply for SOWP and since it will take some time, will it also expire on Jan 2024 or is there a possibility that it would be issued for more time than him?
Has anyone gone through a similar situation and can help? Would really appreciate it.

Are you in Canada? Where are you applying from? Does he have a skilled job?
Your permit expires at same time? You cannot extend a PGWP. So he or you need LMIA with closed work permit to work or ITA for PR. And the AOR.

No, i am back home in Pakistan and thinking of applying for SOWP or TRV (still contemplating on the best option) from there. He works as a software engineer on PGWP. His permit expires Jan 2024. My question is, since his PGWP expires on Jan 2024 and if i apply for SOWP and once approved, would it also expires on Jan 2024 or is it possible that it could expire at a later date than his? Whats the best way forward for me and whats the best option ?
