Hi all,

I am a Software Engineer by degree and profession with 2.5+ years of international experience. I started initial processing for Express Entry but found out that I don't have enough points to make it through. I was told that I should now go for one of the PNP programmes which includes either SINP or Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program. I would like to go for it but I am concerned about my career opportunities in these provinces which is bleak for my background.

I have a few questions that needs to be answered before I go for any one of these:

  • I have contacted companies in Canada and the first question they ask is whether I am eligible to work in Canada or not. So if I get my PR (permanent residency) through one of these provinces, would I be able to go and work in any province of my choice without any major hurdles? Does that qualify me as "eligible to work in Canada"?
  • I have a well paying job in Dubai and I don't want to leave that unless I find a better one. For that matter, would it be possible for me to get a PR and resume my job back in Dubai before finally getting a better offer in Canada and choosing to relocate permanently?
  • How long do I have to stay in Canada before I get a PR? Would I be allowed to resume my job in Dubai after that?

Thanks in advance!
