Hi all, we will be soft-landing next month. We plan to fly into Toronto Pearson airport and head to Waterloo straight.
1. Can we apply for our PR cards in Waterloo or do we have to be in Toronto for that?
2. My husband received a health surveillance form. I understand we need to contact a health clinic after landing and tell them we will be leaving the country shortly. They will update the paperwork so we can report for surveillance once we move permanently. Is this correct? Can we do this in Waterloo? Pls can anyone clarify?
It's an ABBA track. Sorry, I have nothing constructive to contribute to your questions as I don't know anything about the place, the song just popped into my head when I read the thread title.

It depends on exactly where in Waterloo. There are GRT buses but they never seem to go where you need them to. It's a source of much frustration to those of us who live in K-W.
You have to perform your PR landing in Pearson there and then when you land. They will ask you for an address to mail your PR card to (it takes 8 weeks ish). If you don't have an address yet I believe you can inform them later of where to send the card to.
You can get your SIN in Kitchener though at Service Canada if you don't want to do that at Pearson.

I’m assuming some (if not all) of you live in Kitchener/Waterloo? If yes, please can you help me with some more info on the area? We are planning to settle down there. If you can answer some questions for me, pls let me know and I will PM you.
