Hi All,
I am new to the forum. As a newcomer on PR status, does Fair Entry Program (City of Calgary) count as social assistance? (they provide reduced transit pass, internet packs, discounted recreational pass etc). I did not avail any of their services but I did apply for Central Fee Waiver from Calgary Board of Education for my son, status is pending. Also received a WINS voucher for 100CAD for furniture. Does any of these count as social assistance. I am currently applying for spousal sponsorship. I contacted IRCC, but they are unsure and asked me to check with the providers. Thanks in advance

Shouldn’t count as social assistance but the fact that your require financial help could be a concern. If you need this assistance adding another family member to support could be an issue.
Not necessarily but if you have the finances to support another family member it would likely mean you have the extra funds not to require these programs.
