Even if it isn't considered social assistance getting $1000/month support will be an issue when she has to prove that you can support yourselves.

The program shouldn't delay the application. Nobody can tell you if other things that may delay the application.

I didn't actually meant to say made her. That was her decision to opt out of the program. She decides what's best for both of us, i own no right to her decisions.
