As already stated not considered social assistance. The need for a subsidized bus pass is more of the potential problem. Although there is no income requirement for spousal sponsorship you need to show that you have the ability to support your family financially when they move to Canada without government help.

If your income is low enough to qualify for a subsidized bus pass your income may be low enough that there will be concerns about how you can support your spouse.

Hey, just re assuring, the IRCC website says that social assistance can be a service as well and ATP buss pass is a service. Are you sure this doesn't count as Social assistace right?

It doesn’t count as social assistance but given that you need to show that you can support another person in Canada the fact that you are claiming you need a subsidized bus pass doesn’t instil a lot of confidence that you can support another person financially.

Thank you for your response! My bus pass application was still in progress so I actually emailed to withdraw my application. Let's hope they do it ASAP. Then I'll purchase the normal bus pass.
