I received social assistance of $5435 when I was going to School from Government of Alberta in 2012. After School I started job and still in full time permanent job. I have put an application to CIC to sponsor my parents. The income of Last three years 2012,2013,2014 is above the minimum income requirement.
Does Receiving of social assistance in the past disqualify me from being an eligible sponsor? Please advise.

I put application on 2016. By the time, 2015 tax return was not finalized. So, CIC asked the last three years NOA (i.e 2012,2013,2014). Now they have asked for option-C where it clearly shows the "social assistance payments of $5435" (2012). Now my concern is, does it will disqualify me from being an sponsor? Please advise.

yeah when the last year's NOA is not available you can send the previous 3 consecutive years: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=825&top=14
As you can prove that you have sufficient income to provide the basic requirements for your family members in Canada, Your social assistance in 2012 won't be an issue, it's an issue if NOW you are in receipt of social assistance for a reason other than disability.

No - not if you applied to sponsor your parents in 2016.
Anyone who applied in 2016 had to prove NOAs for 2012, 2013 and 2014 (NOAs for 2015 weren't available yet). Anyone applying in 2017 will have to provide NOAs for 2013, 2014 and 2016. There's always a 1 year lag since NAOs aren't available in time for a January application date.
