Dear All
One form IMM 0008 asks about details of family members whether they will be accompanying principal applicant to Canada or not . It mentions that details of spouses and children are MANDATORY.
My question is should I also write my father's information as a family member
In this skilled worker class, i think my spouse and children will get the residence on my behalf, but can i include my parent also in this ?
Or is there a separate procedure for that ? First I get it and then later i Sponsor my parents etc ?
Thanks
Dear, As a new applier, I also face such kind of confusion.
No, your father will not be included as your family member.
Lateron, you can sponsor him.
Thanks
Zia
Thanks for reply
So ur saying that my spouse and children will get the residence along with me in this application; but for my parents, I would have to sponsor them later once I get the residency ?
So I should not mention their names in details of family (those accompanying me to Canada ?)
Thanks

Dear Salman
For the purpose of Immigration,
Family includes
only Spouse (or live in partner), dependent children AND children of dependent children. So mother, father, grandparents, sister, brother, in-laws and cousins are not considered under 'Family' .... You have to give
Family details in the form IMM 0008.
On the other hand, there is one more form IMM 5406E 'Additional Family Information'. There you (
& your spouse) have to give details about your mother, father, children, brothers and sisters.
AND YES you have to sponsor your parents later ... after you get PR... it's a different procedure all together!!!
Cheers, Anil
