Does anyone know if getting a Multi Entry TRV is more difficult than a Single Entry TRV.... As I am trying to arrange a TRV for a girl from South Africa to come visit my family in Canada for 6 months...

thanks

Ofcourse Multiple entry is harder to get. Depends on the TRV applicants personal circumstances and her purpose/intention of visit. If she has a strong case of visiting Canada again then she might be able to get multiple TRV.

Hope this helps.

Well can you apply for a multiple entry and they end up granting you a single entry or do you have to choose one or the other before you apply?

Thanks

You have to choose one before you apply cuz on the application they ask what are you applying for and then you have to pay the single/multiple entry fees accordingly.

For people who are visiting Canada for the first time Ill personally suggest that they apply for a single entry first...and then for their subsequent visits there after they may choose to apply for multiple entry visa.

I read one post somewhere a while back.. Family of 3 applied for TRV, multiple entry.. Mom & Dad approved, but were granted single entry only despite applying for multiple. Child was not granted.

hmmmm interesting so there is a chance of getting issued a single entry visa even though you applied for a multiple entry visa? as that is what I gather from the above post...

Thanks

Yes, that's correct..

In both categories of single or multi visa the general requiremnts are the same, the only difference is when a multi visa is issued validility and the cost more to process it.
