Not able to get your Q
SIN validity can not be more than your WP expiry date .
So although you will visit Service Canada for SIN ext. they will not entertain you

I think right now you are eligible to apply open work permit if you have aor. You can renew your sin once you get permit.
I am not sure, Get more details from experts
to renew your SIN you must have WP without that your SIN will not get renewed. if you are already working then you can continue working if you have applied for WP extension. ylour status will be IMPLIED STATUS.
I am in the same situation and my employer allowed me to work since i have provided them proof of application submitted for WP extension. check the below link for more details
You can apply for a BOWP. If you current WP is already a BOWP, it can be renewed.

We just went to Service Canada and explained our implied status since our extension for BOWP is still pending and we are also waiting for PPR after medicals, but Service Canada said they cant extend the SIN without an effective WP so the best advice is just to continue using that SIN and apply for extension after OWP is received or if PR is received because the number will change from 9 to something else.
