Sin number question

Hey,

I applyed for a work permit late last year and called today and they told me i have been approved.
i havent recieved it yet but when i get it i will renew my sin.

can i just renew my old one or do i have to get a new one. surely if i am just renewing it they can do it straight away and i dont have to wait a week?

You can renew your old SIN card.

Also did you have a positive LMO for work permit extension?

Bring your new WP and your old SIN (if expired) to Service Canada and they will issue you a new one, same number new expiry date.

i didnt have a LMO, i sent the letter that i got from PNP, they gave me a letter saying that i needed a new work permit. i sent it off with the forms and it worked.
