Hi guys
Just wondering if anyone had any experience doing this. I am applying for citizenship and sending it off this week. I am worried about the signature part. On my COPR I have the same signature as on my passport. On all the other Canadian documents (OHIP, Drivers license) I have my new signature corresponding to my name change.
On the instruction guide it does say "Sign and date the application form with the signature you currently use on other official documents."
I am assuming I will use the latest signature, the one after I changed my name.
Just wondering if anyone was told otherwise?

You can mention details about old and new signature on the cover letter and use both signatures. Its upto you how you would like them to know.
In my case, my passport has new old signature and drivers license has new signature.
At the bottom of my cover letter, I signed using both signatures and I did not mention anything about the signatures in the cover letter.
Thus, the CIC officer checking the file will come to see both signatures and can reference it with the IDs attached to the application.
I have read in one of the forum posts that a person's signature did not match thus during interview the CIC officer asked him to sign on another piece of paper just to make sure if he is the same person/signature is of right person.
Hey,
Thanks for the reply. How did you sign the application itself? New signature or old?

The application signature was new signature that I used.
Great thanks man
Phew, while doing this application so many questions come up!

It is always suggested to use the new signature. CIC call centre told me the same. A person can change his/her signature many times in life and he should always stick to new signatures. If questions arise, CIC can ask for clarification.
