Hi,

Someone seemed to have posted a similar situation here but I have not yet seen a definite response to it so I'm posting this again. Would really appreciate some advice on this.

My husband and I just received an ITA. At the time of filling in our application, we had claimed points for sibling because his sister and brother-in-law actually got PR and moved to Canada for a while but returned to India due to a family emergency. However, now as we upload our documents for the ITA, we fulfil all criteria - we have her PR card, medical card and bank account details etc but she doesn't currently reside there. They will return after the family issue is resolved which may take a few months. So we are considering 2 options:

1. To alter the sibling point (after which, our scores still remain valid and within CRS range) and offer an LOE explaining our point to avoid any misrepresentation

OR

2. Decline the invitation

The only reason we are even considering point 2 despite still being eligible for the ITA is because we want to avoid any potential misunderstanding or raise any unnecessary suspicion.

Advice and guidance is duly appreciated.

Thanks

You can mention in LOE, explaining this situation and can alter sibling points. If the CRS will be higher than the Invitation Round, then your file will be processed.
