I applied for a job in Canada and now i am preparing for IELTS . I want to take my wife along with my 5 years old son with me to Canada . Do my wife also has to pass IELTS ? I am putting this because she is very poor in English . She hardly understand English .

No she is not required to take IELTS
 
So she can go with me without taking test ?
If she opted for exam and get some good marks then is it going to add some extra benefit in my Visa processing (Immigration plan ) ?
I heard of some additional points but not sure how is it going to help in my immigration plan .

I am quite new to IELTS subject so posting some silly clarification . Please help me to get this clarity .

What are you applying for? Express Entry immigration?

Since you're the main applicant, only you'll need to take IELTS

You can get additional points if she scores over certain marks - but it's not mandatory that she takes it
