Should I wait or should I go?

I can only refer to what was said earlier already. Having spent my entire life in Switzerland and moved to Canada only a few years ago, I can assure you that what looks good on paper is only half the truth: Switzerland is very expensive when it comes to living and everyday expenses (groceries, car, fuel, insurance). I make about 20% less here in Canada than I used to make in Switzerland and still I can afford and save more here! The only thing that is probably more costly here in Canada is taxes - lol. While I was aware of it and it is easier to cope with for me, it might be hard for someone moving the other direction.

Another thing that I only realized after a few years in Canada is that Switzerland is really crowded compared to Canada and the people are sometimes pretty stubborn and narrow-minded. Everybody is friendly but you need to invest time to make good friends. If you are used to the openness of Canadians and the available space, this might be a shock for you at first.

P.S. I noted the statement about the requirements for Swiss citizenship in one of the replies. I have stated this already before: the 19 year requirement is definitively wrong (it is 10 years) and you neither have to be approved by all cantons nor do you have to be able to pass a test in all three official languages (one is enough)! Besides: there are actually 4 official languages in Switzerland, not just 3 8)

You're right, the law changed June 2014. Check the original Law from 1952.
