should I give up hope after 12 months waiting?

It has been 12 months now since my application was filed,

I applied GCMS notes last year OCT, and it shows under second review, due day is March 25th, 2015

since the due day has already past, Im feeling my application will be mostly likely rejected, should I give up waiting on that?

As far as I understand the process is as follow:
1. Junior VO reviews your case and make recommendation for Senior VO/Project manager. If the recommendation is "Recommended Passed" than Junior VO will also initiate Medical Request.
2. Senior VO/Project Manager reviews application based on recommendation done by Junior VO and makes final decision. Also will initiate MR if the decision is positive but MR is not initiated yet. At this point Senior VO still can make negative decision even if Junior VO recommended passed.
3. Once status changes from "Recommended Passed" to "Passed" you should see "In Process" on your eCAS.

Well, in my case, my eligibility itself is undergoing a second review, but the applicaiton status in ECAS shows 'In process'. My PR is done but MR is not initiated. So the above process appears to not work in my case.

Yes, for ppl who applied starting from May/June the eCAS shows "In Process" from the start. For someone who has "Application Received" in eCAS it changes to "In Process" just after Eligibility get "Passed".

My online status always shows "application received" since I received the AOR in March 25th 2014. And there is no updates since then. My GCMS notes say the eligibility is under second review since September 2014. The due day for MR is already past. I have sent a couple emails to CIC, what they said is always like "your application is currently in queue for review........"

Can anyone give me any advice or comments?

Same with me also. ECAS status shows application received .
Applied in nov 2013 and AOR received in Jan 2014.
