Shortstay in Toronto

Dear members and seniors,
please advice for a short term stay (for a week or two) when landing in Toronto, with a 3yr old kid,
which is the best option 1, apartment hotels,
2, rooms with kitchen etc,

please advice for a shot term stay in and around Toronto, before we find a apartment to stay,
those who have landed please share your experiences...

I've stayed at a Residence Inn Marriott downtown. I really liked it. Nice suites with a full kitchen:
