On my landing, I had by mistake informed the landing officer for short stay and said that I will come back after settling things back in home country.
He asked for local address in Toronto and I had informed about my friends address. He mentioned that the PR CARD has to be received by me only and will not be shipped to my friends address. He advised me to call and change my address when I take my own apartment.
He advised me to stay until I get my PR Card. Also, mentioned that the whole process may start again if I leave without the PR card.
Please advise if it was wrong to declare "short stay" and will I loose everything, if I have to leave. I am leaving in a weeks time and need urgent help.
I hope the CBSA officer will not make a note to affect my PR status. I landed on Friday evening and been checking the ECAS status constantly for the 5th line.
Legally, I am allowed to leave the country after my initial landing and come back after settling more things back in home country.
I asked if the address is updated in the system.
They said the address in the system is my new address that I mentioned at the time of entry. They also mentioned that the PR card will be delivered to this address.
Thanks for your help,

Dont panic.
Call the 1-888-242-2100 and mention that your address in Canada is .......
Just don't confuse them and worry yourself saying its your friends address.
I agree. Now I remember correct the officer was telling me to stay, but at the same time he was wanting me to worry more about the customs declaration of money and assets that I would like to bring in future. He mentioned it twice that i should not worry about other things.
He said, I will walk you to the customs after this is over and we thanked each other after the whole procedures was over.
