I been working for a Canadian company in Thai more than 4 years and my PR card was expired last year. I sent the application to renew my PR to CIC in Alberta, and it took them more than 11 months to respond and asked me for an interview at the CIC office in Montreal.
Here are the some questions that they kept asking and asking:
- what did i do in thai?
-what is my position?
-why don't i work for canadian company in canada?
- how my company pay my salary? by months? or how?
- how do i delcare income tax each year?
- why do not i stay forever in Thai and lose my PR status in Canada?
- do i have children?
- where is my T4 showing that my canadian pay for the job?
- Did I receive commission on my salary?
- Is my salary enough for me to live in Thai?
- how do I know that my company is qualify for my to work in Thai and keep my PR status?
- do I intend to live in Canada? show proof?
- why my income was declare differently each year while my salary is the same?
- and many others questions i could not remember....

The CIC officer took 1 and 1/2 hour for the interview, and I am scared to death
After answered all the above question she concluded that my support documents are not enough for her to renew my PR status and she
started asked me about my family:
- what is my wife does?
- where she does?
- do i have children?
after that I told her that my wife is pregnant and i just bought a house, and the officer asked me for the proof of my house purchasing,
I showed her everything and she decided that i am qualified to renew my status base on humantarian and compassionate.
So if any of you a similar to my case, please do not take risk unless you have solid documents to support
