I have been a PR for 5+years. Last March, I helped my dad apply for a tourist visa so he could attend an important event in Canada in June 2023 with me. He previously held a 10 year multi-entry tourist visa to Canada so we all thought getting another tourist visa was gonna be really easy. Then the s**tshow begins. This is the timeline in ircc tracker:
Mar 29, 2023 - application received
Mar 30, 2023 - Payment of biometric fees
Apr 26, 2023 - Background verification status has been updated to In progress
Jun 27, 2023 - We sent you a message about your application (They requested additional document Government Table)
Jun 27, 2023 - We received the information you sent us. We’ll review it and let you know if we need any other information from you. (We sent them the requested document)
That's it! We are still waiting... Obviously the event has passed and I went through the 5 stages of grieve long ago, Now I'm simply curious, will it take 2 years for them to process? 5 years?? 10 years??? Very soon it will exceed my PR application wait time.
