After submitting documents to local visa office, when job verification done?what is the e status then?

How this employer verification is done?

do they do over telephone or physically ? does this is done for all previous employer. suppose i have 4 different employer than what ??

what in case of one of the employer has shut down the unit and company no more exist??

What they ask your Employer and you about your job?
