I'm asking this question for the one last time to clarify my doubts,
I'm getting the settlement funds from my uncle (father's brother) as a gift. I read somewhere that the funds should be from a blood relative only (father/mother/siblings) is this true?
I'm planning to submit my 6 months bank statements, balance certificate from bank, notarized gift deed, proof of transfer. I read that an affidavit is also required, is this true?
Please help.
If anyone who has got the funds from their relatives comment please.

i dont think an affidavit is required, but add it if it makes you feel safer...
for gift deed, you might be required to show relation between you and your uncle... that would be the main challenge... otherwise i think uncle giving money is fine.

Well, I used gift deed from my uncle for proof of settlement funds but I just submitted my application about two weeks ago so I'm not sure how things are going to turn out yet. But I'm keeping my hopes up

Hi,
I'm trying to create a settlement plan using 'Living in Canada' tool.
There is a question asking, "What is your home country?".
Now, I live in US for the last 4.5 years, not sure if I should mention, US as the answer or my country of citizenship?
Will be grateful, if someone could provide some guidance on this.
