We just sent our application Thursday, our tracking number says it was received Friday morning. Yay! No more photocopying, printing and typing. ;D And now I can enjoy a few days with my husband before I return to the USA but what next? We wait for emails? Is this the correct order of things to wait for?

Do we recieve an email of sponorship approval first?
or the AOR - Acknowledgement of Receipt first?..
Do we recieve our Universal Client Identification number (UCI) or Client Identification number (Client ID) then??? it is 8-digits?
Is CSQ only for sponsors in Quebec?

Then we wait for a.... medical results update-> in process -> decision made -> passport requested -> do US citizens need a visa in the end? is there a special stamp needed in your passport in the end when they return your passport?

any answers would be most appreciated...sorry about all the questions

Congrats on sending it in!
The first part usually takes a month - you'll get your AOR, which includes the Application number which the applicant can use to log into ECAS with their info, and a UCI number for the sponsor. After that, you'll receive your SA. Sometimes, CPC-M will not send an AOR and will instead go right to the SA.

Then, your file will be transferred to Ottawa, and you'll be waiting in silence for a couple months. Usually 'medical results received/updated' will show up on your ECAS as soon as you get your SA, but I've heard of it being a bit delayed.
From following the CPP-Ottawa thread, you probably won't hear anything from the visa office until you get a passport request, if you even get one at all. Or, the applicant will get an email requesting extra documents, if needed. Recently, people have been seeing 'decision made' on ECAS and then getting the COPR in the mail unexpectedly, without any contact from the visa office. That usually doesn't happen for 6 months or so.

The first half of the process is exciting. It goes by quickly, waiting for AOR and SA. After that, be prepared to wait, wait, and wait some more without any news from Ottawa! It's only been a month for me since I got my SA and I hope I only have to wait 6 more.
