I have applied under FSW and received my 2nd AOR from London VO on 19th August 2010 my status on ECAS is received by VO. I went to UK on student VISA in Sept 2004 and came back to my country in Oct 2006 but I realized that in background decleration form I have mistakenly mentioned my returned date as December 2006 instead of Oct 2006 (two months difference). I am so confused and worried, would it be a problem during background checks?

Please advise solution thanks.
Write a letter to your visa office, highlighting this inadvent mistake on your part. They will keep your letter in record and you will have no problem. It is not a big issue so dont get worried and just write a letter.
i second what explorer 101 says, they may ask you to re-fill background declaration later with correct dates. for now just send them the letter explaining the mistake.

and what will be the Consequences if I do not inform them? do they have any mechanism to track this and if they have, would they be considered this as a big problem or they ignore it?
1. i think dates are important and taken seriously, i remember reading a case on this forum where someone had some date problem just like this and the v.o. had not given points for the work experience saying-"you exited the country already as per your declaration, then how does your experience letter quote that you worked till that date. "
2. later you may require to fill a travel details form where you have to mention exactly which countries you have been to and lived for how long- this they will cross check.
3. if you are showing some other course or experience during that oct-dec period, vo will wonder if you were in uk how did you start it in your home country.
so its always better to be clear. but thats my viewpoint- you can wait for more comments.
