Hello Seniors and others who may have relevant information on this.
I am now a PR, having landed in 2010 but currently outside Canada. My dependent will have to land before his visa expires on May 25th. My questions are:
1) Do I have to be in Canada when my dependent lands? I've always known that Principal Applicants will have to land first, if PR and dependents are landing separately. I've landed ahead and I am thinking it is alright for my dependent to land now even though I am outside the country.
2) I already showed proof of settlement funds when I landed. Does my dependent have to bring an updated proof again?
It is quite important that we make no mistake since my dependent's visa is expiring already. Thanks for your inputs.

No, you don't have to be in Canada when your dependents land there and they are not required to show any POF. They should tell IO your date of landing. He/she can confirm that in their system.
Btw, is there anything official from the CIC website that he can print and carry along to the port of entry? Just in case some immigration officer causes difficulty. Visa is expriring on May 25th and he lands on May 23rd.
