Sending Additional Docs to HK VO

Hi all,

I'm about set to send off an updated package containing more concrete plans for our relocation and updated pictures from various gatherings, plus some e-mails from my family in Canada, etc...

This is the address for the HK VO:

What I am wondering is whether they will accept a package via courier. Will it be like the PO Box in Mississauga where you can't send courier packages? Or will they accept it?

I also want to know if someone will sign for it.

Has anyone done this before?

I am doing this mainly to show how serious we are about re-establishing in Canada. I also want to be proactive and avoid them requesting additional information later on, which I assume would cause a delay.

Hey FS,

I am not sure if they would accept a package via courier, but I do not see why not. Try and write them an e-mail and ask them, maybe they answer. On the phone you can not talk to them. I tried and it is just an answering machine all over the place, they say that unde the Privacy Act they can not deliver information over the phone - BS.
When I sent a big anvelope in February, with more evidence, I sent it via Canada Post, it got there in 7 days, and I know this from the CAIPS notes.

I'm going to Hong Kong on August 13th with my wife and son...do you think they would allow me to hand deliver it?

I do not see why not. Have your file number and both UCI numbers handy, explain to the guard and I think should be no problem. From what I realized, thay are pretty understandable.

I checked the website for the HK VO and it states that you cannot drop off applications for permanent residence. The thing is, I am not dropping of an application, just some updated evidence. I guess I will take everything with me to HK and try to drop it off on the first day we are there. If that doesn't work, then I will get a local courier to send it the same day so I can get confirmation while I am still in HK that they received it...plus it will save a bit of money.

No, I think they are doing the background check and Police check as we speak. Maybe by now you know the reason as probably your wife talked to my wife.

My wife hasn't chatted with your wife. What's up? Some kind of hurdle? You guys passed the interview with flying colours, so I cannot understand what would cause further delays, well, aside from the normal checks.
