Hello I'm from nigeria. I used the online method to apply for my visa and I have done my medicals. I would be sending my passport tomorrow but I want to know if I need to include a return envelope or I just leave that and when the passport is ready I come pick it in person from the embassy (is it allowed?)
Good.
I dont know if you will have to include a return envelope. Well, you can prepare one while going in case it is required.
I learnt your passport has to be valid for the duration applied for. If not you may wish to renew it. What is the time frame you were given for the passport to be submitted.
Please, after how many weeks of the medicals were you called for passport presentation? (I also applied online in Nigeria and just got the email attachment to proceed for medicals)
Did you attend any interview?
You can come pick it up from embassy if you do not include return envelope. If you are sending through mail then why would you go there include the return envelope. If it is close to your home then go pick up yourself.
@Afrotimy in the email sent to me from Lagos I was requested to send my passport and added docs exactly 3weeks after my medical has been done. Yes your passport must be valid for that period. And no interview.
@dipta I sent the docs and passport today via ups express delivery but didn't include a return envelope. The lady at the ups office insisted that if I wasn't told to use a return envelope by the embassy then I shouldn't do so. It would be received at the embassy by end of day Friday.
I think embassy has the option of return envelope at least Singapore embassy has it. Well if you can pick up yourself then no problem.

Hmm such is the case everywhere. It is taking soo much time everywhere. You have to sit tight and just wait for it. I did not get a call for medical as I am in usa but usually you should have gotten call for medical after a month or so. try contacting the embassy and ask them

email them in this mail lagos.immigration@international.gc.ca . hope it will help.
It takes 2months in nigeria before you get a reply for medical call. But this year it is slower for those who applied via paper
@ 2 chains, thanks. I did my medicals already last week and now expecting call for passport. Have you got your own visa yet?
@Topanoic, sorry for the delay you'r encountering. When is your course starting? May be yet are attending to those resuming soon. As in my own case, I got the call for medicals earlier (8th week after submission online). But if your course is also for this fall, I will advise you to send them a email with a subject strategic enough so that they will read it. Or perhaps, it is taking them longer to screen your application. I guess you are not from the north?
I will advise guess for future application to apply online, it is faster. If you check the processing time inside Canada, you will see the difference. I applied from Lagos and have done my medical with my spouse.
