Seeking the guidance for immigration

I am a female from Pakistan and I want to move to Canada but I have no idea how to do it on my own as the immigration consultants ask for only the money and guidance is zero.Is there any possibility to apply on my own without the help of consultant?How long does it take for a person to migrate to Canada and on what grounds?
