My situation is I will leave my son in Philippines under my mother custody. In my application for PR I submitted I attached a letter explaining why I have to leave my son in my country.

Now I am confuse and wondering about this things:
In case I get my PR and I come in Canada alone leaving my son in Philippines...... to get or receive a landed immigrant..is the immigration will ask you about why im not bringing my son with me or why I leave my son and what is the reason....?

In this case, do I have to tell them my reason the same as what I wrote in the letter that I attached in my application explaining why my son is not coming with me?

Or please any idea or advice to share for what will be the best reason to give or tell in the immigration regarding on this matter?

Any help I will truely appreciate.
Thank you in advance.

This is just my personal opinion... If your reason will be acceptable to visa officer and as stated to the letter you attached to your application, and you are granted a visa for permanent residence later on, immigration officer may or may not ask you about it. If an immigration officer does, and will ask you why you decided to not take your son with you, just be firm with your answer as stated on your letter. Too, make sure you have with you a copy of the letter you sent to CIC on the day you will travel. Again, this is just my personal opinion. Others may have better thoughts :)

Thank you survivor27.
Yes,I had all the soft and hard copy of my application for PR.
All of those copy I will bring it with me when I get a visa and to travel in Canada.

Did you include your son in the application? Did he have a medical?

If you included your son as in your dependents but wrote him down as a non accompanying dependent then you might be asked by the immig officer about him. My husband and I were not married when he went to Canada through the sponsorship of his mom. our son was included in the application as a non accompanying dependent and he was asked about our son by the immig officer at the airport. But I believe they were just easy questions like verifying the complete name and birthdate. Should they ask you why your son is not accompanying you then I advice just tell them the same reason you gave in your letter.

Yes canuck. I and my son will undergo a medical. I write him as my dependant.

You will have no issues then. CIC and CBSA will not care why your son is not accompanying you. Many people immigrate first and then sponsor their spouse and children later.

Btw, any idea of what laboratories exam they will do aside from chest xray?

They do blood and urine tests as well.

They test for infectious diseases (blood test), pee test, simple eye test, ask if you smoke/drink or are on any medications.

in PH,
blood test, urinalysis, physical exam including an eye exam, and chest xray.
kids will not undergo xray though.

Note that on ur COPR it will be mentioned by CIC that u will not be accompanying your son under your dependent heading.

Hi there, does that mean they will be taking samples of, erm, urine on the spot? o.O also, if it's for inf diseases, i guess if one has higher cholesterol or something that's not a problem? What else do they test for? Qnd can the eye test be taken with glasses or lenses on? And a final question: doing the medical upfront, how are we going to deliver it to cic with the application? And do we get the results too to see?
