I landed in 2015 december as federal skilled worker with my wife and kid. I left canada and without knowing canadian laws got married (without registration or marriage contract) after 4 months (multiple marriages are allowed in Pakistan) .I filed my separation in canada courts in 2017 and got divorce certificate in 2018 after which I got married(with marriage contract) in 2018. I want to sponsor my second wife now, can I honestly tell them that I was unaware of the law and got married in 2016 without having a canadian divorce as I only have pictures from 2016. In 2018 I just had a small ceremony with a few people but now I have registered my marriage for the first time with local authorities in 2018 after my canadian divorce.
What are the implications if I mention honestly that I was unaware of the laws and married in 2016. Can anyone advise?

As long as you were legally divorced, and free to marry, on the day of the legal marriage, you should be ok. The question is, what does your country count as a legal marriage?
I think CIC may question if you are still living with your first "divorced" wife or not. And/or if you two are really going different way and not connected any more in any way.
If your separation is just an act to get pass the process and is a divorce of convenience, so that you can get your 2nd wife over to Canada.
