searching for another job when my WP application is currently under process

Hello,

I have applied for an WP extension in the province of Quebec, sponsored by my current employer & the application is in process. My previous WP and visitor visa expired on Dec 2015.

I would like to know what would happen in the event if I were to choose to resign my position with my current employer:

> Would it be possible for me to search for another job? Would I have to make any changes to my submitted WP application?

> How long can I stay in Canada, if I decide to wind things up and leave the country?
