Science jobs vs Management(commerce) jobs---which are more?

On an average, in Canada, which jobs are easily available?

This person does not care about how much the pay is...only cares about a job , which one would be easier to get, and better for PR purposes?

I ask because...there are businesses everywhere....every business needs managers, marketers, etc which falls under commerce type jobs...not science

on the other hand,there might be very few or less science companies....isnt that correct?



Please help me with this...need to take an important decision :-X

depends on the area of science. For example math/physics backround could land you a job in banking. Medical and pharmaceutical backgrounds are also in demand from my understanding. There are no jobs that are easily available, as any job requires specific set of skils and experience. I don't even understand what falls under definition of a "science company". Science projects are generally backed up by the government sector with some private sector involvment.

Well specifically I mean jobs related to chemicals...chemistry, I am a chemistry graduate and will most probably study a chemistry diploma which is post-secondary in a college in canada...

I am worried because i fee employers willl not entertain someone with just a post-secondary diploma...

and as it is, I fees chemistry jobs are less in canada....which furthur puts me in risk...

On this topic, I do have a chance to switch to a management/marketing course if possible....which I am willing to do if I get good info on the jobs there....are there more jobs in these fields?

- It is possible to change programs in many Colleges. Just ask them directly
- I know a few mid-size companies in GTA which hire young specialists. Can't comment on the post-secondary diploma though.

Why not do a job search on the various employment sites for Canada? The results would help you in your research...

VERY broadly speaking, there are fewer jobs in pure chemistry/science fields, but proportionally fewer applicants with the requisite qualifications/experience.

I know a hugely successfully sales/marketing director (think multinational level) who has a chemistry degree. I also know of 2 chemistry graduates who had very successful careers in academia in Canada.

All 3 were immigrants.

Okay thats good ...
But does CIC recognize it as a job in my field of study?
meaning do they see oil = chemistry when it comes to getting a job in their own field?
